Recipe Review: Pizza Chili

Pizza ChiliFor my very first recipe review, I am going to review the pizza chili recipe from Food Renegade.  I love pizza and I love chili so this was an easy decision for me.  First off I made a few changes to the recipe because I do not like the idea of organ meat. I have yet to overcome that fear.

Pizza Chili

  • ground beef

  • round heart  (I used all ground beef)

  • ground liver (I used all round beef)

  • green bell pepper, diced

  • small onion, diced

  • clove of garlic, minced

  • small jar of sliced black olives

  • package of pepperoni, sliced & diced (I used applegate farms pepperoni) (SCD: have not verified as legal. I have also made this with homemade Italian sausage.)

  • quart of marinara sauce (I either make my husband’s Nonna’s recipe or I use Rao’s.)

  • quart of beef broth (for SCD you must make your own)

  • sea salt, basil, red pepper flakes

  • mozzarella cheese (I used provolone)

I LOVED this recipe. It is a great way to get that pizza flavor without all the fuss of an almond flour pizza crust. I also love soups.  The actual recipe was easy enough for me to follow not a lot of difficult steps which is wonderful. I do not like recipes that are filled with a lot of difficult steps. I usually pass over those. I have a toddler to take care of.

I highly recommend trying this recipe out. You will not be disappointed.
